Welp… as this story of ours continues to be written things have once again taking a turn. Not for the worst, just another direction. The plans to stay here in Arizona didn’t pan out, so at the end of this month our place of residence is up in the air. Are we moving back to Texas? Not sure. Chicago? Hmmm… not sure. Tennessee, Atlanta or Canada? All of these things are options at this point. We’re really not ruling anything out at this point. Who knows what’s next!

So since I can’t provide much info on our future, let me distract you with something else completely unrelated – but awesome!

This is for sure one of my favorite videos on YouTube. It’s a PSA called “Embrace Life”, and it is so well produced, and so powerful that every time I watch this I’m moved. I get chills. This is art. And it’s a freakin’ PSA.

Pretty powerful stuff, hu? Nothing is said. No words. Every gesture we recognize even without the car, and we completely understand what’s happening. They’re not trying to shock you into wearing your seat belt. They’re trying to move you to action. So good.

This piece was shot on a Phantom HD camera at frame rates up to 1000fps at some point. A fantastic example of modern technology and art being beautiful fused together to invoke a response.

What do you think? Am I making a bigger deal out of this than it is? I’ve watched this over and over, and it just doesn’t seem to get old. What say you?

There’s been a lot going on lately with projects and such, and as much as I’d like to talk about all he fun stuff I’ve been working on I know many of you are probably still in the dark about where we’ll be living in the next couple months.

I’m sure most of you saw the twitters and Facebook posts about us moving to Texas in April. This was our exit strategy, and we were looking forward to a change in scenery and being around old friends and our families.

About a month or so ago one of the companies I do work for gave me an offer that would keep me here, but allow for some freedom and the chance to pursue what I really want to do. As much as we were looking forward to a change in pace, Rachel and I both decided that this was an opportunity we needed to take a chance with.

So here we are. If you’re in Arizona, you’ll be seeing us around. If you’re in Texas… sorry.

So I’ve been milling this whole blogging thing around in the back of my head for a while, and hadn’t really decided what to do about it. I had this – what I thought was a – really cool blog, but really nothing to say. Or rather nothing that I felt I needed to take the time to type out.

And the truth is, I still don’t. But I found a little creative inspiration, and I picked out a whole new theme for this place, and so now I’m pretty eager to say something worth saying – which would be more than what I’m doing right now.

Nevertheless, I just wanted you all to know that I’ll be coming around much more frequently!

Stay tuned.

Speaking of “tuned” if you haven’t downloaded JJ Heller’s new album, you need to do that right now! It’s FREE! She a good friend of a good friend, and her music is stellar! Go now.

Been away from my blog for a while, but there are some crazy things happening on my side of things. Well, perhaps crazy is a bit of an exaggeration, but there is stuff happening nonetheless!

First thing going down – and the reason I’m not going to give you an exhaustive recap of the past several months besides the fact that it would bore you to death – is we’re a moving back to town. When I say “town”, I mean Chandler, AZ where I work (not Marble Falls for all my Texas friends, nor Tempe for all my AZ friends), but at least I’m not commuting 50 miles every morning to get to work!

That said, I have a ton-o-packing to do, and I will fill you in on the other groovy stuff later on.

Peace,

How sweet it is when one might rest in the beauty of his own bed! When the troubles of the day, and the stresses of life accumulate, and all your failures – your “learning experiences” – are behind you; your entire world, if even only for a few moments, can come to a surreal non-existence amidst the blissful state of slumber!

Sleep and I, have gone our separate ways in life. She has meant so much to me in the past, and it was a sad, sad day when my choices forced me to let her go as my one true love! Many a day, we would spend together; we would experience every morning in each other’s presence, and our togetherness, on the not so rare occasion, would often take us to mid-day were we would then have to part. Yet in my heart, she never left! Her fragrance would leaguer with me throughout the entirety of the day, until we would again be reunited.

Now, my life, my calling for this age has torn me away from my Love! “ Oh Sweet, Sweet Sleep, I will not forget thee! Your presence made me strong, and in your absence I will become stronger, so that someday we may once again be brought back together in perfect harmony!” She is a preciously innocent creature, able to melt away a man’s heart; she can change him from an ever-stressful, never-resting machine, into a peaceful, thoughtless, careless being. Her presence can so create a since of contentment, complacency… perhaps even apathy towards life, and the retched, monotony that it seems to so potently possess. She comes to you, and seduces you with her rest, despite whatever engagement of commitment you might be bound to, you can do nothing but give in!

Alas, Sweet, Seductive, Sedentary Sleep! She has enticed me for too long! Yes, when we are together, there seems to be no greater bliss! Yet, as we part, I begin to see all the glories of life that she had mask – all the riches, and dreams that could have bean! I made a choice. No, I cannot wholly let loose of her grasp, but I have found another. One in whom lives life! Life that is full – life that is completely alive! – life that, though it may have it’s hard “ learning” times, has an appeal greater than that of these limited imaginary dreams of slumber.

While Sleep once had her sweet appeal, this Other , gives me a life that consist, still of dreams, but dreams of reality. Feats which could not be accomplished while under the blanket of sleep, but are highly attainable under Her vale. Her name… is Responsibility. Wait, what? Her name’s Responsibility?!? Forget that, I’m goin’ back to bed. G’night!
