All that rendering I was talking about…

// July 29th, 2009 // No Comments » // Media & Technology, Projects

Alright, so if you follow me on Twitter or are a friend of mine on Facebook, then you probably remember not to longer ago when pretty much every other update was a comment on render-time. Well… that’s ‘cause I was rendering a lot.

featured-welcome-video-imageI produced a short welcome video for the new Mission68.org website. In order to spruce it up a bit I added key phrases that were said by Mark Connelly (the lead paster guy), and then track the text so that it sort of followed Mark’s movements. Turned out pretty good I think, but you should take a look and judge for yourself.

So… click over to Mission68.org, and you’ll see the video right on the front page. Check it out, then come back here and tell me what you think!

More later!

Sony EX1, Letus, and a HazMAT Suite!

So a few weeks ago I was asked to DP a project that needed to feel like a music video, and they wanted some 35mm action!  Unfortunately – or perhaps fortunately – I recently broke the coupler ring on my Redrock M2, and I needed to rent a cinema adapter package for this project.  I’d been wanting to work with the Letus Extreme for a while so seemed like a great opportunity! I rented one for the day, hired my buddy Keegan Ead to come AC for me, and it was a fantastic experience!

If you guys haven’t seen the trailer for this short we’ve been workin’ on, check it out and le’me know what you think!

NowGO!

// September 5th, 2008 // No Comments » // Media & Technology, Projects

A few weeks ago I did a short piece for Central Christian Church for a sermon series they were starting. Shot the whole thing on the EX1 in one day, and then did the edit and finishing in Final Cut the day after. Turned out alright, so I thought I’d share it.

I love me some EX1! I actually did this through SNT Video – the production company that I work for – which is why you’ll see their name on the video. I promise it’s legit…

Screen Wars

// January 18th, 2007 // No Comments » // Film & Movies, Projects

So “Consumed” aired last night on an AZTV show called “Screen Wars”. It’s basically a film competition between indie filmmakers around the area, and the winner of the whole shabang gets their entry shown at the Phoenix Film Festival!

The outcome is determined by the viewers. The short with the most votes goes on to the next round. Check out ScreenWars.net to vote for the current films competing. I’d appreciate your vote, but of course, only vote for the short film you feel is the best!

A Work Progressing…

// September 27th, 2006 // No Comments » // Media & Technology, Projects

Wow. That is my reaction to the music of Daniel Baranowsky. If you remember, I said I had somebody who was going to score “Consumed.” Well he called me last night and said he wanted to talk about it, so we met up.

There are some people who are talented with an instrument, and who can make music. Then there are people who actually understand the rules of music, and know when to break them – that’s Baranowsky. When somebody compared him to Hanz Zimmer, I was skeptical, but they weren’t too far off.

Here is just a sample that is somewhat in the same vain as what he will be doing for this movie.
